The Process

What To Expect

  1. Complimentary 15-minute consultation: You’ll learn more about the therapy process and how therapy help you meet your goals,  and your therapist will learn more about your concerns and hopes for therapy. You’ll also have the opportunity to address questions or concerns, and collaboratively decide on next steps.
  2. First Session Assessment: You’ll meet with your therapist via a confidential video conferencing platform for a more in-depth assessment of your concerns. You’ll walk away with an improved understanding of what’s been causing you pain, defined goals for treatment, and clarity about how you and your therapist will work together to meet your goals.
  3. Recurrent therapy sessions: You’ll meet with your therapist  on a regular basis so that you can get the most out of therapy and meet your goals. Your therapist is here to help you design a life that you love.
  4. End of therapy: Once your therapeutic goals are met, you and your therapist will discuss how you can maintain therapy gains and transition to ending therapy. If you have additional goals at that point or at any time in the future, you and your therapist will discuss your concerns, formulate a new treatment plan, and complete another course of therapy.

If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.    – Brene Brown

A Collaborative Process

A deeper understanding of you as a person often requires exploration of present and past relationships and experiences. Together we explore how these have shaped your understanding of yourself and others. The intersections of your identities have no doubt also impacted your lived experience, access to resources and options, and have had a great impact on the way you’ve navigated life.

Your therapist will work  collaboratively with you to illuminate these factors, and help you to experiment with new behaviors and approaches to enable you to build a life that is meaningful to you – a life of which you are proud. You deserve the time and investment in yourself…you deserve to be free.

Online Therapy

Online therapy is a form of psychotherapy which occurs via an online video-conferencing platform versus occurring in person. We utilize a secure, confidential, HIPAA compliant software for all sessions. Online therapy has many advantages, including increased accessibility, comfort and convenience. Research has shown that online therapy is just as effective as in-person treatments, and clients sometimes feel safer in an online platform. Online therapy’s popularity has skyrocketed with increased health and safety concerns related to COVID-19.
